Announcing Bristol’s Annual Community Christmas Tree Lighting & 2nd Annual Winter Carnival! This year we have made some fun changes to this community favorite event! Please note that the date is set for Thursday, November 21st at 4:30 p.m. at Cumberland Square Park in Historic Downtown Bristol. The event will showcases the first year of the site’s nearly 30-foot Douglas Fir as Bristol’s main community tree!! Decorated with thousands of warm-white Christmas lights – about 30,000 of them – for a dramatic and joyous display.
The event will also feature 25+ holiday trees, each decorated by a local business, individual, or non-profit organization. All of the trees, along with the Douglas Fir community Christmas tree, will be lit simultaneously during the Community Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Additional trees will also be located at the Downtown Center (810 State St. Bristol, TN), The Sessions Hotel (833 State Street), and Anderson Park for a total of 60 trees in this year’s Christmas Tree Villages! Each 7’-8’ anchored live tree will be accompanied by a sign noting the group name. Spectators will have the chance to vote on their favorite tree via QR code on the signs and a prize for People’s Choice will be presented later in the season!
In addition to these traditional happenings, we are proud to present Bristol’s second Winter Carnival accompanying the Christmas Tree Lighting this year!! The Winter Carnival will feature tasty carnival snacks, fun game booths, and more! PLUS Santa will be on site for this year’s event and may even have a few rocking surprises up his sleeve…. You won’t want to miss this!
