Father’s Day Gift Ideas

Father’s Day is right around the corner (Sunday, June 21), and it’s a time to celebrate dear ole Dad!

Maybe he’s the dad who spent most weekends at sports tournaments, cheer competitions, or band field shows. Perhaps he’s the dad who taught you how to ride a bike or introduced you to some of your favorite sports teams, bands, and movies.

Either way, he has helped you develop into the person you are today and now it’s time to thank him for all he’s done with a thoughtful gift!

What does Pops love? This is the kind of question you need to ponder as you decide what to get him. Does he love the outdoors? Is he a diehard sports fan? Don’t worry, we’ve got plenty of ideas to fit any father.

For The Outdoorsman

Who doesn’t love to get outside, breathe some fresh air, and enjoy the beauty that our region has to offer? Mountain Sports Ltd. and Bass Pro Shops have more of a broad offering for those who like to hit the trails or the water.

Just Fish’n and South Holston River Fly Shop cater to the fishing enthusiasts while each of them specializing in a different aspect of the sport.

Simply need some gear and clothing for the outdoors – then Eddie Bauer at The Pinnacle has you covered!

If you’re in the market for a fun outdoor activity, Bristol Caverns and Appalachian Caverns are pretty cool offerings!

For The Kid At Heart

Being a kid at heart is not a question of age, but more so a question of spirit. While some might not admit it, getting a free pass to play is pretty high on this list of Dad perks.

A day pass to Flip Side Retro Arcade is a great option for the gamer. If he needs to release some pent up energy, then consider a trip to Just Jump

For a great family outing with a little friendly competition involved, take him to Bristol Putt-Putt or bowling at New Belmont Lanes or Interstate Bowl.

If a good puzzle intrigues him, then Tri-Cities Escape Game and Intense Escape Room are great options!

For The Entertainment Seeker

Having the opportunity to unplug and escape reality is a necessity for all of us and I’m sure Dad would appreciate that right about now.

For a fan of theatre (live or motion picture), Bristol has multiple offerings. The Paramount and Theatre Bristol provide a wide variety of plays, musicals, and concerts. If he’s more of a movie buff, Marquee Cinemas Pinnacle 12 is a state-of-the-art movie theater that has movies for any genre. Don’t forget the Twin City Drive-In Theatre as a uni

que option to watch a movie under the stars and enjoy the nostalgic Americana essence few places can provide!

Gearheads and motorsports-minded Dads would love to experience the sights, sounds, and feeling of raw speed at Bristol Motor Speedway & Dragway. There are several options to attend an event at The Last Great Colosseum or Thunder Valley!

For the music lover, a trip to the Birthplace of Country Music Museum is a must! Let them spend hours getting lost in this Smithsonian affiliate while learning all about how Bristol became the starting point for country music.

For The Golfer

Lots of Dads find peace (and frustration) on the tee box of a golf course. Fortunately there are several options for him to indulge in a sport he has a love & hate relationship with!

Bristol offers two options for city courses in Steele Creek Golf Course (Bristol, TN) and Clear Creek Golf Course (Bristol, VA). Two other offerings are Bristol Golf Club and the Tri-Cities Golf Club.

If he’s looking to knock some rust off of his golf game, Steele Creek Golf Course also offers a driving range!

For The Libation Lover

After a long day at work (we’ve all been there) or just wanting to unwind and relax, a refreshing cocktail or a cold beer can do a world of good. Fortunately Bristol has

several options to support in the form of craft beers and craft spirits.

Downtown Bristol hosts several breweries in Bristol Station, Elderbrew, State Street Brewing as well as a taproom in Cascade Drafthouse with Elderbrew providing a few offerings outside of their own portfolio.

For the spirit supporter, Lost State Distilling offers a variety of options like bourbon, gin, rum, and whiskey while Volunteer Vodka provides an opportunity to get their award-winning vodka.

For The Sports Enthusiast

Many of us can’t wait for the return of sports and I’m sure your ole man is no different!

To stock up on apparel for his favorite teams he supports, check out Alumni Hall and Dick’s Sporting Goods at The Pinnacle or make a trip over to Hibbett Sports in Bristol, VA.

A new season brings along eternal hope and optimism to root on their favorite team and it’s important that he looks good doing it!

Hopefully this list provides you with some inspiration to find the perfect gift for your Dad while supporting some of our great businesses in Bristol.

Regardless of what you buy or make for your dad, it’s important to make sure he feels loved and appreciated on this upcoming Father’s Day.

And remember, a hug and a “I love you” goes a long way!
